On launch in 2010, we set out to ensure not one single solitary lender lost even so much as a penny lending through RateSetter. £526,167,610 later, we're proud to say none of our 20,240 lenders has.
That's thanks to our Provision Fund which has a 100% track record of protecting lenders from defaults. It's important to be clear that the Provision Fund is not a guarantee and your money isn't protected under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
RateSetter lends to both Personal and Commercial borrowers who are borrowing for a variety of reasons. They could be borrowing to purchase a new car, make a home improvement or grow their business.
Whatever the purpose for the loan, Personal and Commercial borrowers who are accepted are creditworthy and have been rigorously assessed by our specialist Credit Underwriting Teams against stringent criteria.
It's worth adding that the Provision Fund covers all borrower and loan types.
